Basetao Spreadsheet GuideAn independent guide to Basetao

About

Who writes this guide

Who maintains it, how it is paid for, what it will not do, and when you should stop trusting it.

Identity

An independent guide, not an official one

This is an independent guide to Basetao, written and maintained by the Basetao Spreadsheet editors. It is not operated by Basetao, not affiliated with it, and not endorsed by it. Nothing here is an official statement from the company, and where this site quotes the company it says which page the words came from and when it was read.

For an order or parcel issue, contact Basetao through your account and include the order or parcel number. This guide cannot access account records or make support decisions.

Use this guide from the first product search through delivery: inspect the seller listing, record the variant, place the order, review warehouse photos, compare parcel quotes and keep the evidence needed if something goes wrong.

Three panels in route order: the China export side decides Basetao's own policies and Chinese export rules, the carrier decides refusal lists and volumetric weight, and the destination side decides import rules and duty.
The two questions this site exists to answer both come down to telling these three apart.

Disclosure

How this site is paid for

Guides like this one are usually paid for by referral commission, so here is the exact position.

No link on this site earns anything from a Basetao order. We looked for a referral or affiliate programme for this brand and did not find one. So no link here carries a tracking code, there is no commission on anything you buy through Basetao, and nothing on these pages is arranged to push you towards ordering rather than deciding not to. If that changes, this paragraph changes with it and the change gets logged with a date.

The product links are a different matter. Category and search links go to a catalogue of listings that is run by the same people who run this guide. We have an interest in you using it. It is also the reason this site can afford to be this specific about Basetao's shortcomings: the guide does not depend on you placing an order with this agent, or with any agent.

We hold commercial relationships with shopping agents generally. Not with this one, on the evidence above, but the honest statement is that this is a commercial operation rather than a hobby. Read the pages with that in mind, and then check the outbound links: every factual claim about Basetao points at Basetao's own page so you do not have to take our word for it.

What that buys you, and what it does not

The useful test is whether advice identifies the decision you need to make, gives you a way to check it and explains what remains unknown.

Five kinds of claim ranked by how far each can be checked, from a company name and address at the top down to a review score built on sixteen reviews at the bottom.
The same ladder applies to this page. Check the outbound links rather than the promises.

Method

How these pages are written and checked

How to read the material on this guide.

Check the linked policy before acting. Quotations and rates describe the source when it was read; the terms displayed in your account and the current route conditions need a fresh check before payment.

Official links lead to Basetao’s public help pages. If a page has moved, use the help navigation on Basetao’s own site to find the current topic.

Numbers carry a date. Rates, day counts and percentages are quoted with the month they were checked, because they change without notice. A figure without a date is a figure quoted from memory.

Contradictions and gaps are left visible. Where two official pages disagree, both are quoted and neither is picked. Where Basetao publishes nothing, the page says it publishes nothing, which is why the exchange rate section explains how to measure it rather than stating a figure borrowed from somewhere else.

Two official pages side by side, one saying mains-powered electronics are generally acceptable and the other refusing computers, laptops and phones, both leading to one instruction: ask about your exact item in writing before paying.
Leaving a disagreement visible is more useful than resolving it on the company's behalf.

Limits

What this guide cannot do

Five things this guide cannot do for you.

It cannot tell you your own country's import rules. Nobody here is qualified to, and Basetao does not publish them either. That is the third segment on every diagram on this site, and it is marked as unresolved on purpose.

It cannot verify a seller or a listing. Those change daily, and an agent does not vet them. The ordering page explains how to read one; it cannot read one for you.

It cannot tell you whether an item is genuine. Neither can the inspection, which records appearance only. Basetao's prohibited list bans counterfeit goods, and this site does not explain how to work around that, here or anywhere else.

It cannot promise the figures are current today. They were accurate when checked, checked October 2026, and the company has already demonstrated it will move its pages without warning.

It has no inside line to support. Where a page here tells you to get an answer in writing, that is because we had to do the same.

When to stop trusting this site

Apply the test from the category page. Click two outbound links: if they 404, nobody has read these pages in months and the figures will have drifted with them. Check whether the dates next to the numbers are recent. If both of those fail, treat everything here as historical and go to Basetao's own pages instead.

The old storage policy address now returns 404 while the same page under the new best-taobao-agent-service prefix returns 200, with nothing redirecting between them.
The failure mode to watch for, demonstrated by what happened to every guide written before October 2026.
